Motorola introduced the R5 LKP (Limited Keypad) series to offer a powerful, intuitive communication tool for users who need more than the basic model but less than a full keypad. The R5 LKP lets teams communicate clearly in tough environments, keeping safety, reliability, and ease of use at the forefront.

From the start, the Motorola R5 LKP impresses with its loud, clear audio output. It features Automatic Acoustic Feedback Suppression, SINC+ Noise Suppression, and AI-trained Noise Suppression to reduce background noise dramatically. The wideband speaker, plus programmable loudness up to 106 phons, ensures messages cut through even in very noisy surroundings.

Built for rugged conditions, the R5 LKP is rated IP67, making it completely dust-tight and able to withstand water immersion. It also meets MIL-STD-810H for shock, vibration, temperature extremes, and more.

With up to 32 hours of battery life on select configurations, this radio can last through long shifts. It supports both digital and analog signalling and is available in both VHF and UHF bands. The LKP model includes a 1.5-inch monochrome display (132 x 48 px), which helps with menu navigation, status indicators, and more.

Other standout features include:

  • A robust side accessory connector for audio and other devices

  • Intrinsically safe options (e.g. UL/TIA4950) for use in hazardous areas when properly equipped
